Jewish groups seem to be competing for favor in Mexico, but the American Jewish Committee,, judging from reports, must have made the most impression, if the picture at left, showing two of its representatives posing with President Avila Camacho, is any indication.Dr. Nahum Goldmann, representative of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, returned this week to New York after being received by Mexico’s Foreign Secretary and the Secretary of the Interior, withassurances that Mexico will support the Zionist demands for a Jewish Commonwealth.The third group to have a representative in Mexico this past month was the Joint Distribution Committee, whose Moses A. Leavitt discussed the establishment of a “free port” there with Mexican government officials and the Jewish community of Mexico.U. S.
