ESTABLISHED 1883MAY BE MADETO FILL QUOTAONLY FOURTEEN OUT OF ONE HUNDRED CLAIM NO EXEMPTION.Several Physically Disaualified and a Number File Exemptions on Account of Dependent Relatives. The local exemption board was busily engaged Monday, Tuesday and # Wednesday examining the one hun-•dred men included in the second call to make up Stark county's quota for Uncle Sam's conscription army. Thirty-four were to report on Monday, thirty-three on Tuesday and thirty-three on Wednesday. On account of the large number who are already in tlie service, and those who will probably be exempted on account of having dependent relatives, it is very probable that another call of fifty men will have to be made.So far there have been only fourteen from this county certified back by the state board, the remainder certified by the county board not yet having been acted upon. Allowing for the usual number of industrial exemptions, the county will probably have around twenty eligibles from the first call. ..Of the number examined this week thirty-eight filed exemptions, fifteen were rejected on account of physical disability, and fourteen claimed no exemptions and were accepted for service. Twelve of those ordered to report for examination'failed to show up, and two were examined by other boards. One deaf and dumb man, Joseph Pfaff of Richardton, appeared for examination, and also one alien, Sam Grossman of Dickinson. The following passed thjfe physical examination and claimed no exemp tions:76 602 Halver Becken, Taylor.78 75 Wilson Crosby Richards,Dickinson.oa rn 1 TT_____XI
