Lynn Camp Wildcats Open Seasen With 48-0 Win Over Hazel GreenThe Lynn Camp Wildcats rolled over the Hazel Green Bullfrogs by a 48-0 score last night in the season opener for both teams. The game was played at Lynn Camp.The Wildcats’ offense wassparked by halfback Jerry Elliott and fullback David Robinson who each scored two touchdowns.Robinson opened the scoring in the first quarter when he crossed the double stripe fromfive yards out to cap an 85 yard drive. He also added the two-point conversion on a run making it 8-0.Robinson again scored near the end of the initial period on an 11 yard run. Jerry Elliott hit pay dirt from 10 yards out, and Dennis Hart broke away for a 38 yard touchdown jaunt. The extra point attempt failed after both scores. Lynn Camp went into the locker-room at halftime with a comfortable 28-0 lead.Early in the second half, Danny Harrell scored from three yards out for Lynn Camp’s fifth touchdown of the night. A-gain the point after attempt was stopped.Jerry Eliott got loos for a 68 1 yard gallop in the third period for his second touchdown of the game and gave the Cats a 40-0 lead. David Robinson tacked on the extra points for a 42-0 score.Earl Hopkins registered the last TD o fthe night on an 19 yard sprint in the last quarter. The point after attempt failed and the final score stood at 48-0.The Lynn Camp defense was outstanding, holding Hazel Green to three first downs and not permitting the visitors past midfield. Jerry Elliott and Dennis Hart intercepted passes from their defensive halfback slots.
