BREWERS WIN 14 TO 4 IN SEMI-FINALS OF REGIONAL TOURNEY New Ulm’s Brewers and Wanda, Redwood county champs, met in the drizzling rain Sunday at Gib bon to decide a region six fin alist and the Brewers proved the more effective in a moist environ ment, blasting two Wanda hurl ers for a 14 to 4 triumph. Wanda was almost as effective at the plate, collecting 12 hits, but they were widely scattered. As a result of the victory, New Ulm plays Excelsior Sunday at Gibbon for the region title. Excel sior defeated Le Center 15 to 4 at Shakopes Sunday. New Ulm scored twice in the opening frame, five times in the second when Vandal switched pitchers, five times in the fifth inning and once in, the sixth and seventh innings. Mel Wolters, Gibbon hurler, chosen for mound duty for the Brewers, gave up two runs in fourth and fifth innings.
