Two Buffalo young men, brothers, received right leg fractures yester day at 11 a. m. when the motor cycle they were riding southward on the Smethport-Emporium road struck a car operated by Henry B. Lathrop, 3rd, of South Bradford. Their condition at the Olean Gen eral hospital, was considered not serious last night. They are Melvin Cupler, 24, who was operating the cycle, and Wayne Cupler, 25, who was riding with him. According to Pvt. H. F. Gorka, state motor policeman who investi gated, the automobile slowed down when proceeding southward on route 46 at Gallup’s Corners, a mile south of Colegrove, to turn right into the Clermont road. Before Lathrop got the turn made the motorcycle, fol lowing the car, crashed into the rear of the machine and the two cyclists were thrown off their vehi cle. After receiving treatment by a Smethport physician, they were taken to Olean in a Port Allegany ambulance. One of the Buffalo youths reported to Pvt. Gorka they had been going about 55 miles an hour just before the car slowed down. Dick Johnson of Betula was riding with Lathrop. Those in the car were unhurt. Damage to the vehicles was con sidered slight.
