ESOM HILL NEWS. Mrs. R. M. Pearce returned to Rome last week after an extended visit here. Miss Gertrude Wood left Tuesday to resume her studies at the 7th Dis trict School at Powder Springs. Mr. J. B. Jones was in Cedartown Monday, Messrs. W. B. Griffith and J. W. Wood and families, Misses Maurine Maret and Kate Hardin, and Mr. J. G. Brewster attended the Haralson county singing convention Sunday at Steadman, Mrs. D. L. Griffis spent the week end at Jefferson. Mr. Lloyd Hackney of Birming ham, spent the week-end here, Misses Gertrude Wood and Maur ‘ine Maret were in Cedartown Satur day, Miss Laura Gilley, of Piedmont, spent last week with her aunt, Mrs, J. T. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Norris and Miss Fannie Mae Hicks, of Anniston, came Saturday on a visit to the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Morris, Mr. Irwin Wood and sister, Miss Gertrude, Misses Maurine Maret,Kate Hardin and Mitchell Barry attended church at Friendship Friday evening. Mr. Chas. Crook, of Bluffton, was here Saturday, Miss Clarice McElwee left Satur day to attend school at Heflin, Ala. Messrs. Thos, Barry and Phil Brew ster of Cedartown, were here Satur day. Mrs. B. F. Cleveland, of Lime Branch, spent Wednesday with her daughter, Mrs. W. B. Maret. Miss Annie Lou Trentham, of Full wood, was here Wednesday. Mr. J. B. Eison, of Atlanta, was here Saturday and Sunday. + Mrs. Guy Smith, of Cedartown, spent Wednesday with Mrs. W.B. Maret. Miss Mitchell Barry, of Benedicts, spent last week with Miss Maurine Maret, Mr. Dock Cleveland, of Birming ham, was here Wednesday, Mrs. Jesse Fain, of Shannon, was the guest last week of her sister,Mrs. W. B. Griffith. There will be singing next Sunday afternoon at the Christian church. Everybody came. Mrs. R. M. Maddox and daughter, Miss Annie Laurie, of Cedartown, spent the week-end here. Miss Della Chandler returned Tuesday from a visit at Cedartown. A pastor will be called at Union Grove church next Sunday. All mem bers are urged to be present. JOHN L. YANCEY, Sec.
