Rev. KarlMegchelsen Married Last FridayWashington Journal: The mirriage of Miss Glvnne Ellice Rowan to Rev. Karl Megchelsen of Keokuk, Iowa took place at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Rowqn near Ainsworth at noon September 1. Forty-two guests assembled to witness the ceremony which was performed bv Dr. J. A. Kennedy, pastor of the Ainsworth United Presbyterian church. Preceding the coming of the bride and groom, Mrs. Anna Barnes McAter of Viola, 111., played the Venetian Love Song and Miss Florence Megcfeisen, the groom’s sister, sang “Beloved, It Is Morn.’’ after which to the strains of the Lohengrin wedding march the groom, accompanied by Dr. Kennedy, took his place beneath a bower of autumn foliage and there awaited the bride who was accompanied to the groom’s side by her father. The pair was united in a beautiful double ring service and were presented to the guests by the pastor who aUo announced that congratulations were in order to Mr. and Mrs. Rowan who were at the same time celebrating their thirty-fifth wedding anniversary. An elaborate four-course wedding dinner was served by Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Dicken, assisted by the Misses Carrie Colthurst, Ethel Henderson, Maud Mc-Crtedy, Wilma and Helen Paul. The bride wore a gown of white taffeta and georgette crepe with a veil of tulle and carried a shower bouquet of bride’s roses and lilies of the valley. She is a graduate of the Washington Academy and Monmouth College and a recognized leader among her companions and in church circles. The groom is also a graduate^ Munmouth College and also of Pittsburgh theological seminary and is at present serving his first pastorate at Boyden, Iowa, where he has a furnished home awaiting his return with his bride. He is exceptionally fitted for his chosen life work and goes with the highest recommendations of those who have always known him. The Rowan home was most beautifully arranged for the occasion, the decorations being golden rod and golden glow, with an abundance of clematis and bitter sweet entwining the stairway bower.consisted of linens, cutglass, painted china, silverware, cut flowers and many other useful articles. Many guests were present from a distance After a brief honeymoon spent among the lakes in northern Iowa, the newly married couple will be at home at Boyden, Iowa.The Reporter joins in with their many friends in extending congratulations and in wishing for them a lifetime of happiness.1917 Ford HasMany ImprovementsThe 1917 Ford automobile has many changes over that of the 1916 model. The hood of the new model is built along the stream lines that are so popular today. The old flat fenders are replaced with Crowned fenders. The radiator has been changed j slightly. All in all the looks of the car has been improved considerably. The chassis remains unchanged.Carl Tott the local agent has already several orders for the new models, and is putting forth every effort to secure them for his custo-mesr.Wesith2CT'ccorMat McCabe Celebrates Seventy-Third BirthdayOn last Saturday, a large number of relatives and a few friends were entertained at dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mat McCabe, northwest of town, in honor of Mr. McCabe’s seventy-third birthday.This occasion, which has been observed in this same way for several years, is one of great enioyment to the old gentleman.
