Fred Eder, A Strawberry Point Youth, Committed Suicide In OldHouse Near Lamont.The sad news reached here Saturday that Fred Eder, who had been working for Fred Buah near Lamont, had committed suicide by hanging. Mr. and Mrs. Bush were away attending the State Fair; the other helper had also gone away and the last seen of Fred was Friday morning at seven o’clock. When it was discovered that he was missing a search was made and his body found Saturday morning in an old house on the Bush farm. His father was notified and the body brought home that afternoon. No cause is known unless it was worry over an automobile that he had recently purchased.Fred L. Eder, Bon of John and Anna EdA, nee Miller, was born at St. Sebald March 28. 1892, and was baptized soon after by Rev. G. H. Fuehr. He was confirmed April 8, 1906, and died September 1, 1916, aged 24 years, 5 months and 3 days. He leaves to mourn his untimely death, his father, John Eder, two sisters, Rose and Mrs. Chris Otter-beck of this place and one brother, George of Buffalo, Wyoming, besides many relatives and friends. His mother preceded him in death wnen he was but six months old. Funeral services were held at the home September 4, 1916. by Rev. Rembold, pastor of the German Lutheran church at Lamont, speaking in Englsh He took his text from Isaiah 26:8. Fred was a good, industrious young man and will be greatly missed by his many friends and associates.
