OPENING AT NORMAN PARK, Judge Roddenberg Made the Ad dress—Also Addressed a Large Picnic of Woodmen at Merrillville Yesterday, Congressman Roddenberg has just returned after a visit to Norman Park and Merrillville. ‘At Norman Park Tuesday’ he made the formal address at the openinggot the Nor man Park Institute. His school has progressed remarkably and 8 regarded as one of the best in the Wiregrass. It was founded by Hon J. B. Norman and is now under the supervision of President McDaniel. Judge Roddenberg's address was Netened to with great interest and it was a gem. Yesterday, he attended a big pic nice at Merrillville, given by the Woodmen of the World He also made an addres on that ocvasion, which was greatly enjoyed. Team foes to Cairo: A baseball team, composed of some of the “young Americas who are remarkably enthusiastic about the great game, left this morning for Cairo, where they are scheduled to play a double bill this afternoon with a team from that town. Among those to go were Ty Cobb Cooper,, Charlie Walker, Walter Pittman, Elbert Tillman, Lloyd Vann, Eddie Price, Howard Thompson, Martin Elder , Mrs. Tom Mallard, of Brunswick, is in the city as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. 8. Dismuke returned to day after spending a short time on business in Jacksonville, Child Buried Today. The body of Ida Belle Smith was brought to this city on the Albany train, from Ochlocknee, this morn ing and buried immediately at Lau- rel Hill cemetery. The child died two days ago of Cyptheria, while on a visit to the family of Mr. Rey nolds, a brother of the child's moth er. The father was in Chicago at the time of the daughter's death, but hurried down at once. Mr. John Roddenberg left this week for Gainesville, where he will enter Riverside Academy for the year, Messrs. ‘Ed, Young, Stanley Ben nett and Tillman, of Quitman, spent a short time in the city yesterday afternoon. Snake With 39 Rattles. A gentleman in this city states that a rattlesnake, with thirty-nine rattles was killed this week, two miles and a half from town. He did not see the snake, but was told of the occurrence by a negro, who he believes is reliable. If this was done, the rattles would prove one of the curiosities of the State, as there never has been killed In this section one with that many noise- produc ers.
