OIL MEN VISIT MONO LAKE REGIONtIiThat tho Mono Lake oil region h the real thing Is borne out by nil those who visited It. In the past few weeks a number of oil experts, some of whom arrived from the oil Holds of Pennsylvania, have visited the scene and not one but that has expressed the belhT that It will prove to he one of the richest Helds In the United States. Hundreds of claims have been staked and new people nre constantly coming In There has been found two qualities of oil. one 1h a red oil, though of a good grade, and the other a white or pnrnflne. The latter looks like and has the same consistency as glyeer- j Ine. This oil hums freely In a lamp'*1 without refining. Experts have pro j uoiiueed It the next highest grade of petroleum oil so for found In tho United States, the value of the crude oil being $0.00 per barrel. A diamond drill has been ordered by one company and Is now on the way, and will lie put to work as soon an It arrives. This will then determine the quality, and this U the only question to be determined. That there Is oil and of a high grade has already been established. With oil wells id active operation It means at least 20,000 more people for this section oi California. Only those who have been through oil excitement* can realize what It means to u section, it means, however, big pay rolls, new enterprises, manufactories, and will enable* smelters to be erected to treat the rebellious ores or which Mono county has millions of dollars worth.
