PETER B. WYC-KOFF DEAD.Funeral services Held Tuesday%Afternoon.*Peter B. Wyckoff, a well known | and highly respected Vinton citizen died at his home in Vinton Sunday afternoon September 3rd after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Wyckoff suffered greatly and death came to him as a relief.Peter Wyckoff was born in La Porte county, Indiana, nearly 68 years ago, where he resided until 1863, when he came to Benton county Iowa, which has since been his home. He first settled on a farm in Big Grove township, where he lived for years, coming to live in Vinton 28 years ago. He was first married to Mary E. Robinson in 1859. Tothem five children were born, namelyFlora, and Florence, now Mrs. Roe,| both of Vinton; George E'., now in i the west, and Minnie and Henry, deceased. The first wife died in 1S74.His second marriage was to Cora Crawford, and to them five children were born; Gertrude, deceased. Clifton, Borman, Alice and Martha who with their mother survive.The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the residence, Rev. S. S. Hilscher and Rev. A. B.| Elliott officiating.
