Rita C. Powers, 72, of Drexel Hill, died Friday at Haverford Community Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Powers was a resident of Drexel Hill for many years. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, Drexel Hill, and the Bell Telephone Pioneers. The widow of John O. Powers Sr., she is survived by two sons, John O. Powers Jr. of Downingtown and James J. Powers of Primos; two daughters, Mrs. Ann Marie McCann of Collingdale and Joan Powers of Drexel Hill; a brother, James Cullen; three grandchildren and one great-grandson. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m..on Wednesday at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Dennison Avenue, Drexel Hill. Burial will be SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple. Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Donahue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude National Shrine, 205 W. Monroe St., Chicago, Il., 60606-5033. a
