We've been lucky so far. we have had no injuries on the field.The boys are in very good condition. they have a much better attitude than last year’s squad. They're small but are willing to play.Tanner also said he would do good if they could equal last year’s record, but he hoped they would do better than last year.The 10 regulars returning are Sammy Warwick, fullback; Dana Halstead, guard; Jim Will-, End; William Burruss, tackle; Howard Griffith, halfback: Denny Criss. quarterback: William Payne, end; Henry Ki-7.er, tackle or center; Charles Lawson, tackle or guard; and John Mayo, halfback.With those 10 regulars returning and a few juniors who played ball last year, but not enough to earn a letter, the Mustangs should be a powerful team this vear. Thev also have three good boys up from last year’s junior high team. They are Otha Payne, a 135-pound, fast running. and quick thinking quarterback, Alexander Morgan, the lad that outran everything in the junior high track meet last yearJerry ( oilier, Denny Criss. The 11 lost were; Ray Collins, end: George Pot-, ter. back: Keith Humphrey,tackle; Bill Caperton, quarterback: Jim Newson, fulLback;Charles Taylor, tackle; Jim Patterson, back; Bert Moore, end; Joe Vallina, guard; Bill Grabo’v-ski, tackle and back; and Curtis Meadow* back.Although the Mustangs suffered a great deal by losses due to lave th(horses to fill the graduates* shoes.Warwick will be one of the biggest work horses for Tanner a« he enters his third year on the gridiron for Mount Hope, he olaved in the line last year, but he got enough experience in the backfield la-st year to give the Mustangs the power in the fullback position.
