Local News Mrs. Gus Mohr and son, Charles, had as their visitors one day last week, Walter Lehde, Riese Bishop, Erich Lehde, Mrs. Lorene Lehde, all of Baytown, and Mrs. Mohr’s two daughters, Mrs. W. J. Petzolt and Mrs. Fritz Dieckschat. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Hartstack of Washington, Mr. and Mrs. A. Martstack, Jr. and family of Bry an, Mrs. Theo. Borgstedte and daughter, Mary Helen. Miss Pa tricia Ann Buck of Houston at tended the Kieke-Phillips wed ding Sunday afternoon, Sept. 2, in Brenham. Mary Helen Borg stedte was in the house party. Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Dickschat and children, Mr. and Mrs. Billy uunsford and son, Terrie, of Houston spent the Labor Day Week-end in our midst Visiting their relatives. Miss Shirly Lauter of Houston also Visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Lauter, over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Edward “Shorty” Bosse and son, Gregg, of Hous ton, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Graber Schick of Brenham Visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fritz “Bud. do Dickschot and boy last Sun day afternoon. Relatives gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Mohr and two daughters late Satur day afternoon, Sept. 2, to help Miss Carol Mohr celebrate her birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Borgstedte and family left Labor Day Mon day for Seguin, where their daughter, Janice Borgstedte, will enroll at the college there. Miss Menitta Wellmann spent several days in Houston with her sister, brother-in-law and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Lunsford and Terrie. The children and grandchil dren of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pe ters gathered at the Washing ton State Park Sunday for a bas ket dinner and lunch later on in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Mace Meekins of Navasota are the proud par ents of a big baby boy born to them August 31. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Goessler of here and Mrs. Pearl Meekins of Navasota. Mrs. Meekins is the former Miss Ruby Goeesler of Washington. We are very sorry to report that Fritz Beaker is very ill at his home here, we wish you a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Tom A. Stege mueller and family attended the Fisher-Osborne wedding Satur day evening, Sept. 1, in Bren ham. Miss Sylvia Ann Stege mueller was in charge of the bride’s book, little Miss Ruth Stegemueller was flower girl and Miss Carolyn Stegemueller was in the house party. Jean Bosse, Billy Stegemueller, Harry, Edward Fred, and T. C. Kolkhorst started football prac tice last week at Brenham high school. The Krueger sisters and their families recently gathered at the home of Mrs. Alice Schulze for a surprise birthday party in hon or of Mrs. Schulze. Those pres ent for the occasion were Mrs. Schulze's daughter-in-law. Mrs. Charles W. Schulze and two daughters of Baytown, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Mohr and Jerry, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Borgstedte, Mr. and Mrs. Willie F. Stolz, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Stolz and family, Mr and Mrs. C. F. Holle and family, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Relatives and friends gather ed at the Gus Stegemoller home on Monday night, Sept. 3, to help Hilda Stegemoller celebrate her birthday. Stolz, Mr. and Mrs. Clar ence Lehmeyer, Mr. and Mrs Howard Hilley and Kay, Mr. and Mrs. Thurman R. Wehmeyer on a family, Gloria Ann and Ray of Navasota, also Herbert Stolz, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kolkhorst and sons of Houston visited with relatives in our midst over the Labor Day week-end, Rev. and Mrs. Paul Piepen brok had as their Labor Day week-end visitors their children and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Piepenbrok and daugh ter, Sandra Lee, of Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boring and family, Charlotte Nancy and James Peal, of Navasota. Mrs. Frank Stewart and Mrs. Tommy Thomson and daughter, Kath ryn Ann of Navasta, were Mon day Labor Day visitors of the Piepenbroks. Mrs. Ronnie Parish and daugh ter, Terrie, of Tyler spent sev eral days here last week with Mrs. Parish’s sister, Mrs. H. A. “Bubba” Stolz and family, and Mrs. Jerry Mize and family of Navasota. Mrs. Parish and daughter returned to Tyler the latter part of the week. Mrs. Louise Stolz spent the La bor Day with Mr. and Mrs. Al bert Lauter, Sr. Mrs. W. A. Stolz and Mrs. Louise Stolz spent Sunday aft ernoon visiting with relatives in Bresham. DEVELOPMENT BRAZOS RIVER LEGEND: EXISTING DAMS NEW DAMS ‘Sroposed LAND in the heart of Texas will be created under the Brazos River Authority’s master plan for development of the river. The map shows how the Authority’s Six-Dam Program will provide a chain of lakes 250 miles long stretching be tween Whitney Dam at Waco and Possum Kingdom above Mineral Wells. This continuous body of water, convenient to virtually all Texas sportsmen, will become a center of a great new recreation industry. This Land o’ Lakes of Texas will provide boating, fishing and camping facilities on a scale never before known in the Southwest. They also will assure the Brazos Valley of an ample water supply for irrigation, industry and municipal use far into the future. A by-product will be hydro-electricity. Besides the Six-Dam Program, the Authority plans various other reservoirs for local water supply and for special purposes, such as Allens Creek and South Bend, show: nun the map.
