C of C Endorses Parking Lot ActionDirectors of the Spencer Chamber of Commerce Wednesday unanimously .approved actions of the chamber's officers in connection with the city's purchase of the Schoeneman Bros. Dumber company property for a municipal parking lot.The chamber of commerce, along with the city of Spencer, the lumber company and Spencer Industries, Inc., is a defendant in an equity suit filed by Ben Shine. The suit asks that the contract be declared illegal and without force.In addition to endorsing actions of their officers, C-C directors also approved a motion “that W. M. Cornwall, as a member of the (chamber’s) legislative committee, be employed at no expense to the Chamber of Commerce to defend the action.In other action Wednesday, the chamber authorized the budget committee to review membership cards and make adjustments in dues as warranted; ap-j proved a motion to purchase! four signboards, which were formerly leased, for $2,200; andt heard officials from the Amer-; lean Legion and VFW ask that1 merchants observe Veterans Day: Nov.
