He is a fine whistler, and regrets that he is never awake to hear himself. The Blind Man, of the Viaduct neighborhood, has been swindled again. Luke Mathewla sold him a iinile that was older than he claimed ‘it was. _ Columbus Allsop’s uncle died in the Viaduct neighborhood one day recent ly. Being an honest man the neigh bors made up money to bury him. Polk Easley says the more civiliza tion was have more complaints we will hear about fleas. Yam Sims was arrested Tuesday morning for firing four shots at ran dom. He was acquitted of the charge when he proved that he fired only three shots at random and the other time at Raz Barlow. Slim Pickens took his Jews harp lover to Dean’s Saturday afternoon and played a few selections. He says:he wouldn't mind being a musician if the harp didn’t backfire now and then and jar his teeth. The steps leading into the Ray school house were stolen a few nights ago. The Deputy Constable has been put on the case and has several of our good citizens under suspicion, as he passed a house where a mass meeting on the road question was being held on the night of the crime and overheard one of the speakers say that steps would be taken at once to repair a bridge. The Dover Hill preacher requently was to announce in his behalf that all who intend to hear him preach next Sunday morning must walk through’ the woods to keep out of the dust.
