Myrtia Pierce McKinleyMyrtia A. Pierce, eldest daugh_ ter iof five children bom to John, Laburi^a Pierce, July 15, 1871 in Benton Township of Lucas Co., departed this life August 25,1957, at the age of 86 years, 1 month, and 10 days.On January 21 f 1891 she was married to Minor C. McKinley. They 'began their married life in Washington Township on a farm. To this union were ibor-n: Doneta Ethel (LaFavre) who died in 1937 and Thomas O. of Russell.Her entire life was lived in Lucas County. In 1921 they moved from the farm to Russell where she lived until her last illness when she was jnoved to her sons home. Her husband passed away in 1936.Early in life she united with the Trinity Evangelical Church and remained faithful to her church and its teachings to the end. “Aunt Myrtia” as she was affectionately called by many of her friends as well as her relatives, and a friend to 'all. She will be greatly missed by her son and was a devoted wife and mother, daughter-in-law, other relatives, neighbors and friends.She was (preceded in death by her father, mother, sister Mary, her husband and daughter. She leaves to mourn her passing: her | son Thomas and wife Glenn; one grandson Clell LaFavre and wife Iris of Klemme, Iowa; two great grandchildren, Jerry Lee and Margaret Jane LaFavre; three brothers, Clinton, Blame, and Oscar Pierce, all of Russell, and many other relatives and friends.Funeral services were held ' at the (Woodman Funeral Home in Russell Wednesday August 28, 1957 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. A. E. Beals officiating and interment in the Russell Cemetery.
