Ben SherwoodPasses AwayBon Sherwood passed away Friday evening, August 30, 1946 at the soldier home at Grand Rapids.Ben was a world war 1 veteran and served three years. He spent most of his life in Weidman and vicinity. After his mother passed away several years ago he sold his farm and moved to Weidman. He trucked trailer houses, throughout j the United States and drove the school bus. While Leo Embrey was in service he helped Carl run the gas station. He became ill last! January and spent several weeks at the veterans hospital at Dearborn. and returned home much improved in health, until last week he became seriously ill again. jFriday morning he was moved by ambulance to the Soldiers Home at Grand Rapids where he passed away the same evening.Funeral services were held at the Stinson Chapel at Mt. Pleasant Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock. Rev. Kilgren of the Methodist church officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Fair View cemetery at Weidman.There were no near living relatives but he left many friends to, morn his loss.
