C. VERN NOURSEj Mr C Vem Nourse, Machias, Junction, passed away Tuesday evening. August 26, 1941, at the home of his sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Greenwald, Arcade. He had gone to visit his mother at Perry on •Sunday, taken there by another sister, Mrs. Mabel VanSlyke of Sardinia. On the way home he was taken ill and they stopped at the Greenwald home, where he had several attacks of illness. A doctor was called, and he was under treatment when death occurred suddenly Tuesday evening.The funeral was held at 2 o clock ion Friday at the Delevan Methodist church, with interment in the Delevan cemetery.Mr Nourse was bora on July 16, 1872, at Delevan, N. the eldest son of the large family of George and Almena Austin Nourse.Mr. Nourse was a bachelor ana jhad lived for many years alone at this home in Machias Junction. He I had been a life-long sufferer with 1 asthma, and in his earlier days he .had traveled to the West to try the ' effects of a change of climate, visiting the Alaskan Klondike region, the State of Washington, and spending several years in Idaho, He ^ cameback about 20 years ago and had since made his home in Machias.He is survived by his aged mother, at present in Perry; foursisters, Mrs. Blanche Ames of Attica, Mrs. Mabel VanSlyke of Sardinia, Mrs. JenfRe Covell of Perry and Mrs. Dora Greenwald of Arcade; two brothers, Everett and Llewellyn, both of Delevan, and other xnore distant relatives.
