Four men, employee of the Mc Kee Construction Co., under the direction of Monte Graf, began work this week on a Fred Harvey green house to be operated in con nection with La Posada. The building, 20 by 40 feet in size is situated in the north west corner of ‘the stone and adobe fence sur rpounding the gardens at La Posada, and so far as is practical will carry out’ the Spanish-Indian architec will detrain and be formally re ceived in’ North Carolina, one of the southern states which gave him its,,electoral vote in 1928. Although his address will be made a few Carolina,uch of his audience will be drawn from North Carolina and Tennessee, which also cast its vote for,Mr. Hoover for president ture of the hotel building. Work on the structure, it is expected, will be completed in another two weeks, following which plants and shrub bery, and flowering growths to be used in the decorative landscaping of La Posada will be started grow ing, in order that they may be transplanted as soon as possible. Miss Mary E. J. Colter, noted in terior decorator, who designed and supervised every detail.in the dec orative scheme of the new Fred Harvey hotel and dining room, spent Thursday here going over plans for the building and its fu ture use. Not only will a large ex pense in the transporting of plant life to Winslow from various green houses, be eliminated, but vegeta tion grown in this climate and alti tude has a greater chance of thriv ing when transplanted to similar soil in the gardens of the local ho tel, it is pointed out.
