A badly sprained ankle caused Quarles to atop while Prentice staggered into the town.Dr. Floyd Wondio, who was in Hope at the time of tho accident, wan called to the depot where ho administered to Prentice's injuries While anotheis speeder went out to get Quarles. From Hope tho injured men wore brought to Kootenai In tho caboose of a local freight and from there brought to Sartdpoint by a switch engine. Prontico suffered cuts or bad bruises at IS different spots although no bonce were broken. Tho right side of his head and face was uomewhat battered, while a cut on his foot required stitching. Quarles' most serious injury was iris sprained ankle although a half dozen sore spots scattered over his body attostcd the vlo-lenco of his fallMiss Clarico Quarles, who is in the city, attending the toachers' institute, was advised of the accident and visited her bfothar shortly after his arrival at the hospital. Doth men were in good spirits and rested easily after the dressing of their' injuries.Tho cause of the accident is assigned by Quarles to a bent axlo on tho speeder, the rosult of a collision with a freight ongine a few minutes before.
