Harrison, Pub.A Voice from the PastA copy of the Franklin Reporter dated January 22, 1881, has been left at this office by Mr. Joshya Wingert, which proves to be an interesting sheet, especially to those who resided here twenty-five years ago. It was published by Scott Senger, made up in five-column quarto form and the typographical appearance is pleasing.Among the local news we notice the death of Philip Goetter on January 10th, also a copy of the sermon preached by Rev. A. H. Schoonniaker at the funeral ofDr. G. W. Hewitt. Over one thousand people were in attendance at the funeral. A home talent play, “Among the Breakers11, was given by the young people for the purpose of procuring a bell for theM. E. church.In the market reports wheatwas quoted at 80c, corn at 82, oatsat 28c rye 80c, live hogs $4.25 potatoes 59c, butter 19c, eggs 28c, lard 8c. Three carloads of cattle and two of hogs were shipped during the week.
