Snow in Torrid Arabia*It is tho general aapposition that cold weather must bo unknown in Arabia owing to its southern situation and extenaive deserts. A recent explorer, M. Nolde, reports, on the contrary, that during an expedition into the desert of Nejed, in the 28th degree of north latitude, tho temperature, after a very hot day, frequently fell at uight to 5 degrees or 10 degrees C. One day in February it reached 2R degrees C., and fell to 8 degrees after suusot, the minimum being 11 degrees C. Next day the travelers were overtaken by a storm which covered the ground sortie inches deep with snow, and gave it the appearance of a Russian steppe in the winter teasea*
