Judging from the story told by the thiee men first named, they had oome out second best by all odds in brawl with the two last men-tioned. Voss’ thumb was bleeding and looked as though, it might have been chewed in the fracas, \Vhile his ear also bore evidence of having been slashed. Hausoiter, the whipped men claimed, was armed with abig knife, and wanted to slush whatever came In his w^y. Voss, Sofiwariz and Bromme accompanied the officer to the station house and gave the names of the others, promising to appear this morning and swear out, warrants for their arrest, but up to the present hour they have failed to show up.
