Their building is-a substantial stone, brick front, structure 40xS0 feet, and they are now constructing a capacious cellar 40x50 feet.Last year this firm sold 4,000 barrels of cider and 500 barrels of vinegar. They consumed 40,000 bushels of apples; all supplied by farmers in the vicinity of Lawrence.. Over 3000 barrels of cider have alreadybeen sold by this firm during the presentyear. They have now in stock about 1,000 barrels.' Their goods meet with a ready sale in all the western States, and four traveling men are constantly employed inIntroducing them. The cider manufactured by this company is pure apple juice refined through a pafcept paper filter; an anti ceptic is used to vent its becoming hard. It has a pleasant^ pungent flavor, and is absolutely ptirth: Consumers and dealers should not OOii- found these goods with the alleged “crap apple” cider manufactured in Missouri and other States, that gives ye ancient toper an opportunity of appearing before the , police judge every morning. The most of this “crab apple” cider or poison, is composed of rot-gut whisky, arsenic and other drugs, and is as deadly in its effect as forty rod whisky. Several gentlemen in Lawrence who drink dally from a quart to a gallon of the cider manufactured by the Kansas Fruit Vinigar Co., testify to its excellence aud non-intoxicating effects.Mr. R. Carpenter is treasurer of the company and Mr, E. F. Goodrich, secretary and manager—and under their management the business is rapidly increasing. 5
