A tMtjr., an j excursion party of about one hundred and thirty citizens of Lebanon, WaytiesvUle, and Warren county, made a trip over the C\, W. A C- Ur. to this place and return, for the purpose of inspecting the road and viewing our town and forming acquainr-, ance with our citizens.The party was beaded by Mr. S. S., Haines, president of the Miami Valley narrow-gauge, and was composed of the entire board of directors of that road, the county officers of Warren county, the city officers of Lebanon and Waynewille,’ and a number of other prominent citizen.-', of Warren eouucy.* The Waynesville ' cornet band, an excellent band, by the way, accompanied the excursion, furnishing splendid music on the trip, and serenading the town on their arrival here.\ The train reached here at 12:30, and I lie excursion party was mot at the depot by the municipal officers of the town and other citizens and conducted to tlie Arlington House, carriages being furnished . for the ladies of the party, who numbered twenty or more. At the Arlington dinner had been arranged for by our citizen?, and the proprietors of that popular house entertained the visitors in u manner which did credit to themselves and their lfouse. and gave excellent satisfaction to theirguests.After dinner the excursionists and a large number of our citizens assembled at City Hull, where Mayor Barclay welcomed the visitors in a brief and appropriate speech, which was replied to on the part of the excurionUts in a pleasant manner.1 Hiring the remainder of their brief -lay, the visitors were shown about town by our citizens, and at 3:l.jp. m. they again tonic the train for home, and we” hope left with favorable opinions of our town and people.fi urelarlek
