The Camp mcetlnc.ISpthlal Correspondence of Uie I'ros and Ttlbcnr.]The great Camp Sleeting of the Chicago District, at Displaincs .Station, closes on 'Wednesday. On Monday evening, Rev. Sir. Adams preached to a large and a ten ive audience. Tbo prayer meeting which followed was the greatest meeting of the kind held on the ground. The large enclosed space in front of the ground waa filled wi'h penitents. Another prayer meeting was then opened at the rear of the seatings» by Revs. McKaig, Eddy, and others. It was opened with a powerful exhortation by Her. Mc-Kaig, and about SO penitents presented themselves for prayer; about one hundred seeking religion at the two meetings, among them were several elderly men and women. Between thirty and forty were converted during the evening, mnldng over fifty at the public prayer meetings lor the day. And in the woods away from the encampment all throu.U the week, little groups have been gathered in prayer, or persons were alone tn prayer. Many conversions have taken place at these grove meetings. Early Tuesday morning tbo people were awakened by a thunder Btorm. The rain cam* down in heavy showers, but did not dampen the ardor of the people, for above the roar of the storm could be heard all arcund the encampment tbe songs of praise. One melody suggested by the circumstances by which they were surrounded, the eberus of which is—** We '11 »UDd the itorm. It won't be long; tVe *11 anchor by anil by,”“ We’ll AncnoABy and By,” appeared to be the favorite. The most of tbe tents turned the rain so that the inmates suffered bnt little inconvenience.A meeting of the tent holders was held at 3 A. M.,in the grpat tent, at which it was decided to hold another meeting next year, if possible, on the same ground. A resolution waa also passed that the committee for nextyear consist of the pastor and one lay member fromehch charge—the layman to be appointed by the charge. This was made to include the German and Scandinavian Churches within tbe District. To this committee tbe Presiding Elder and the Rev. Mr. Leonard, of the Seamen’s Bethel, were added. At U A. M., Rev. Mr. Cochrane, of Whsaton, preached, at 11 A. M. Rev. Mr. Aysr, of Evanston, and at 5 P. 1L Rev. II. Cox, of Chicago. At 2 o’clock the children had another meeting. In the after*oon prayer meeting at the stand the space was again filled with penitents, and another meeting waa started at thi right ot tfat scatingi.
