The IIkspkbun.—We bavo received tbc September number of this magazine, which commences the fifth volume. It presents its readers with “the tight sleeve pattern/7 which we arc assured is “rapidly growing into favor/7 and several other interesting articles. Up to the present time, Mrs. Day has conducted, not only the editorial, hut the business department of the magazine; hut having no sympathy with tho cold, dollar and cent calculations of (be world, and the gradual increase of business demanding more time and lubor than she could possibly bestow upon it, she has lately secured the services of Mr. C. L. Goodrich, who will hereafter manage the bushiest* of the concern.We are glad to learn that tho magazine is prospering, in dollar and cent matters, for it closer ves success; and regret that the proprietor is under the necessity of threatening some of her rascally agents, who arc in arrears, with the terrors of the law and the publication of v their naroos In a black list. t
