HARRY MECH, JR.Harry Mech, Jr., who quarterbacked Thornton high school to the mythical state football championship in 1965, died at his home in New Lennox September 2. •Residents should call Basker-ville Funeral home in New Lennox for service details, 485-8607.Mr. Mech, who was born March 7,1948, was a teacher at Central junior high in Tinley Park.Surviving is his wife, Linda; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mech, Sr. of Harvey and a sister, Cathy (Becker) of Riverdale.
