P.Sirdsall, Harley, Taylor, ns, Ma-3ullock, ng, Es-Mabellarjorie Perry, lughan, 1 John-■ah O’-lary E-ree R.Negro midwives of Northampton County met at the Rich Square Negro Methodist Church for the annual county-wide midwife meeting, sponsored by the county health department.Dr. Emmett S. Lupton and Miss Mabel Patton of the State Board of Health were present and made brief talks. Permits were awarded to 33 midwives who have completed the required training.Certificates of honorable discharge were given six midwives who have ceased practice because of age or physical disability. They are Octavia Copeland, Pleasant Hill; Jennie P. Williams, Nora Smith, Elizabeth Jenkins and Jennie V. V.-n.’.xms, all of Rich Square, rura c . l : and Hannah Charles, RoxobDr. W. Raleigh Parker, Northampton .xeajih c.ficer, presided at the meeting and introduced the speakers. Also introduced was El-ma McLendon, midwife of Albemarle . in Stanley County, who is spending six weeks in Northampton observing and studying midwifery in the health department.A picnic lunch was enjoyed, and ice cream, donated by the health department, was served.Man In C.
