Several Cases Disposed of in Circuit Court Yesterday. The following cases have been settled in the circuit court: . The Catholic Bishop of Chicago; Holy Cross Roman Catholic, church of Jo litt, and Rev. Baleslaus Pawlowski against Ernist Heldmaier; stiit diis missed for want of prosecution. Motion of appeal was entered. , HK. H. Stassen against Diedich, Arn hold; appeal. Verdict: for the defead ant. This is the third time the case has been tried. Jonathan and Samuel W. Hartong against Annie E. Boice. Defendant found not guilty; judgment against plaintiff. Motion for a new trial over ruled appeal taken to appellate court. Eva Begen against Louis E. Begen, Decree of divice granted. Virgil B. Andruss seeks legal separa tion from his wife, Mary H. Andruss, who was Mary H.Briggs. They were married in Milwaukee, Sept. 21,1871, and lived together till May 1, 1899, when, the husband says it the bill, that she deserted him and has since re fused to live with him. += Cases settled in the circuit court Wednesday: In the matter of the estate of Ralph Crawford, insolvent, an appeal from the county court, “dismissed at Craw ford’s cost for non-compliance with the rules of the court. John C. Baker, et al., against Frank Doyle, still settled and dismissed by plaintiff. The case of Patrick H. O'Donnell, ad ministrator of the estate of John Rog alski, deceased, against the Chicago Alton railway, was brought to a ‘close this morning by the jury returning a verdict of $900 in favor of the plaintiff. The damages asked were $5,000. Cases settled in the circuit court Thursday. The jury in the case of Annie Gray gainst G. T. Gullikson brought in a verdict Thursday awarding $3.000 and costs for the plaintiff. ~~ i The divorce and injunction suits of Gustav Keehn against Paulina Fenki Keehn and A. Jenkins haveeen dis missed by complainant at his costs. — The case of W. ‘C. Crofts “against the Imperial Stock and Grain Co. has been dismissed by the plaintiff at his costs and the garnishee is discon tinued. The appeal case of Emanuel Stadel man against Henry Sass was called for trial Thursday and the suit dis missed for want of prosecution at the cost of the plain. Judge Hilscher began his duties in the circuit court Monday afternoon. Judge Dibell goes to Ottawa. The following cases were disposed of in the circuit court. Saturday: Kittie Daley,et al., against Elmer W. Simpson; distress for rent. Stiit dismissed by plaintiffs at their costs. Sam Cohn against Patrick Daily. Dismissed on defendant paying costs. Gottfried. Brewing company against Patrick Farrell. Jury returned verdict for defendant and that “he did not wrongfully detain the property de scribed in the declaration.” The American Trust and Savings bank, of Chicago, has filed a bill in the circuit court to foreclose on the Joliet property of Sarah C. Davies, et al. The property in question is the Charlotte flats, corner of Second and Eastern avenues. ‘The nonpayment of an $8,000 note is the cause. Joseph Moreen, larceny, pleaded guilty ‘yesterday afternoon, and was sentenced to ninety days in jail and $1 fine. The case of Ray against the S. Sanitary District of Chicago is being tried in the circuit court. The suit is the re sult of damage to farm land, caused by the water of the drainage canal.
