—The Riverside Collegiate Institute opened yesterday under very favorable circumstances. We are informed that the Prof. has every assurance that he will have a very large school, in fact as many stu-dents as ho can well accommodate. Let every citizen have a good word to say for the Prof, and his school. About fifty pupils were in attendance at the first roll call. Thoy gave evidence of good previous training, tlniS: relieving the principals of muchmany disappointments. The greater number are from lmines within easy at^ess of the Institute, thus showing a desire on the part of the citizens to give a healthy support and encouragement to our home institution, while a goodly number are from the neighboring towns, and several from a distance, showing a willingness on their part to sustain an institution which will bu an honor to our County and State.
