A monster petition is being circulated in the north country and over the line in Canada asking for the acquittal of George Ball for the killing of William Long, says the Saco Independent. Already some fifteen hundred names have been affixed to the petition. An inspector of the R. N. W. Mounted Police stated that in all probabiliiy Ball would be released.
