It accounts for j the nineteen tug boats going hither | and thither, towing the thirty lighters and scows loaded with from ten to sixty thousand fish each to the niav of the filling machines. It i.* these tame hungry filling ma-chat cause the hustling and run- j ning of 1500 Chinese and Japanese who cut and clean and cook, who solder and test and label and stow the millions of cans, tliaiare turnediout by the busy little can-making 1 machines.
