Gov. Atkinson lias decided not to commute the sentence of H. Steve Perry to life imprisonment, but will let the sentence of the court stand. Perry will be executed at Decatur next Wednesday. Powerful efforts were made in his behalf by friends, relatives and attorneys, but all to no avail. His wife made pathetic and passionate appeals to the governor, but her tears and piteous appeals, the powerful plea of attorneys andthe earnest supplications of relatives could not save the neck of the doomed man. *
