The productions are corn, wheat, tobacco aud hemp. About ^Washington and Hermann, particularly ibo last named, there are extensive vineyards and fruit farms, the products of which And their way to this market over this road. A few miles abovo Jefferson the road leaves the river bank and traverses a beautiful and fertile country which produces immense crops of wheat, oorn and hemp. In Moniteau county vast measures of the finest coal hare been discovered. Mining operarious are now being prosecuted with vigor. The connections which it makes, the immense production of the country through which it passes, give this line an immense traftlo. Last year the enormousamount of 341.375 tons of freight, a large part of which was grain, was brought to this city by tills road.
