The Sondif TraJn«Ursaas. Editors in the Tinut and Herald of this nay (dhturday) there is a statement that at the request of the Methodist Societies, the Chicago and North-western Railroad will run a special train oa Sunday to the Camp Meeting Nc. In behalfof the Methodtit Societies, I pronounce this statement to be totally without foundation. One cf the principal reasons for goias on the • line of this road for our Camp Meeting was that no Sabbath trains were run. We do not violate the sanctity of the Sabbath ourselves, nor do we desire others to do so,A Committee was appointed to wait on the Superintendent of the road end request him not i to run a train on the Sabbath- He positively assured the Committee that no train should be run on the Sabbath. A portion of the Committee waited on Col. Henry Smith, and he said they never had nju a train on the Sabbrth, and if the Committee did not desire it they never would- On Wednesday the Colonel and Mr. Dunlap ceme to the ground to sea the Committee. CoL Smith stated to the Committee that an outaide press hid been brought to bear upon the Company to ran a Sabbath train, and he staled that the Company would not ran a train unless we requested R. When the matter went to vote, ti^e Committee unanimously refused to make toe rtquest.A UnrEea or tint ComnTre.
