DA appoints AlexanderSheriffs detective J. Michael Alexander of Los Chavez has been named as a part-time investigator for district attorney's office by District Attorney Tom Es quibel.Alexander said he will be working part-time with the sheriffs office and part-time with the DA’s office. He said he would probably be working full-time for theDA’s office after the end of this year.Esquibel named Alexander to the slot early this week. Commenting about the appointment, Esquibel said, “Alexander was the logical choice. Esquibel said he had applicants from all over the state, including two men who were Democratic candidates for sheriff in the primary election this year, Joe Baca and Larry Olguin. Baca had been an investigator for the Metro Squad and Olguin works for the Los Lunas Police Department.Alexander is a 1963 graduate of Los Lunas High. He started his police career as a security policeman in the Air Force. He has also worked for the Albuquerque police force. He has been with the Valencia County Sheriffs office for nearly five years.
