Speaker at Phillip’s TempleWomen’s Day is at Phillips Temple C. M. E. church, Sunday, Sept. 4th., with Mrs. Maude Brown Porter as principal speaker. Mrs. Porter is the daughter of the late Rev. L. H. Brown founder of Lane Metropolitan church Cleveland, Ohio.A graduate of Howard University, Washington, D.c., she majored in religious and educational work. She is assistant principal at Central High School, Louisville, Ky. and the wife of Bishop H. P. Porter, presiding Bishop of the North and South Carolina and N0hio-Kentucky Conferences.Mrs. Porter is the speaker for the morning, afternoon and evening services. Local talent of the city will appear in the afternoon and evening services. Dr. A. W.
