NELSON HANGS UP ABETTER SWIM MARKi~11neitSat‘itneEH*1-C-, Marvin Nelson of Smith's Point, -jOkobojl, who swam from The Inn to L-] Arnolds Park in 41 minutes recently, has made a still better record. He swam from Manhattan hotel to Arnolds Park,- a distance of three Hud one-half miles, in 1 hour 17\lt;2 minutes. He was timed by three watches held J1 by disinterested parties who accom-e panted him in a boat. This swim was made in response to his challenge to Miss Barbara Bettiee of Speueer. Miss 11 Bettiee was unable to swim at thls^ date, so he swam against time, low'- (* 0 ering the record of Miss Bettiee thirty-^' L,J two and one-half minutes. In his lt;^ J recent swim he used a faster stroke ^ than in the shorter distance from Ther; ie:Inn to Arnolds Park.
