THURSDAY, SEPT. 1, 1921. Sheriff T. P. Lyon was in Atlanta , Saturday, Mrs. J. L. Joyner spent Thursday in Tallapoosa, Mrs. J. O. Ray spent the first of the week in Atlanta, Miss Lillian VanDevander spent a part of last week in Rome, Mrs. N. A. Hamrick went to Rome Saturday for a few days visit. Mesdames Carl Pickett and H. H. Hogg spent Thursday in Atlanta. Mrs. A. W.Stubbs returned Thurs day from a trip to South Carolina. Miss Mary Lou Henley went to Rome last week for a few days visit. Mrs. M. P. Morris returned last week from a visit in Atlanta and Ma rietta, Mrs. B. E. Woodruff returned last week from a visit in North and South Carolina. Mr. C. R. Boyles and family re feta last week from a visit in Car roll county. Meadames G. S. Borders, J.J. Coop es and P. L. McCall spent Thursday in Rockmart. Mr. W. M. Leary, of Birminghm, spent the last of the week with Mr. C. W. Smith. Mrs. A. W. Young,of Atlanta,came last week on a visit to her sister, Mrs. S. F. Marshall. Mrs. J. A. Cook returned Saturday to Greenville, D. C., after a visit to Mrs. Susie Jones. Mrs. F. M. Binford returned Fri day to Griffin after a visit to her sis ter, Mrs. 8. W. Good. Mrs. W. J. Montgomery returned Thursday from a visit to her sister, Mrs. E. L. Prewett, in Rome. Mrs. W. H. McKee returned to At lanta last week after a visit to her sister, Mrs. C. S. Scarbrough. Mrs. H. W. Cantrell returned Sat urday to Decatur after a few days visit to Miss May Langford. Mrs. Jennie Bloodworth returned to Atlanta last week after a visit to her sister, Mrs. W. K. Holmes. Miss Maude Preston, who has been the guest of Miss Lucy House as re turned Saturday to New York. Mr. John Frazer came home Friday from Oglethorpe University in At lanta for a stay of several days. Burbank and daughters, Misses Flora and Lena, returned Fri day from a stay at Borden-Wheeler, Mrs. W. W. Boulineau and daugh ter, Miss Carolyn, returned last week from a trip to Washington and New York Hon. and Mrs. Chas. Adamson re turned last week from Ocean City, N. J., where they have been spending the summer. Mrs. J. H. Worrell and son, Jack, returned Thursday to Anniston after a visit to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Crabb. Mrs. J. W. Barr returned Saturday from a visit in Atlanta to her daugh ter and niece, Mesdames W. H. Griffin and H. L. Drake. Capt. W. F. Hall returned last week from a visit to his sons, Mr. Fulton Hall in Philadelphia, and Mr. A. W. Igri Da Mr. D. A. Hicks spent Thursday in Atlanta. Mr. J. W. Blackwell was in Atlanta Thursday, Mr. W. Fielder was in Rome Friday afternoon, Miss Ruby Sanders spent last week in the Gate City. Hon. L. 5S. Ledbetter spent the last of the week in Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cox spent the week end at Esom Hill. Mrs. G. W. Alexander spent Thurs day afternoon in Rome. Mrs. M. E. Keith returned Friday from a visit in Columbus. Miss Sara Leonard returned Thurs day from a stay in Atlanta. Miss Ethel Harpst returned Friday from a visit in Birmingham. Mr. Oscar Cone, of Rome, spent the weekend with relatives here. Mr. T. N. Vincent returned Satur day from a visit at College Park. Mr. G. H. Miller returned last week from a stay at Prendergast, Tenn. Mr. G. L. Hamrick, of Bessemer, Ala., spent the last of the week here, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Agan returned last week from a stay in Birmingham. Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Clark returned Thursday from a visit in Montgomery, Mrs. W. A. Blackwell returned last Thursday from a visit in Cartersville. Miss Horstine Pettitt, of Akes spent the last of the week with friends here, . Miss Lucile Cox, of Rockmart,came ‘Thursday on a visit to Mia. P. A. Duke, Miss Dollie Walker, of Atlanta, came last week on a visit to Miss Inez Lowry. Miss Florine Janes came home last Thursday from Atlanta for a few days stay. Little Miss Grace Zuker, of Fish, visited little Miss Gussie Hamrick ov er Sunday. Dr. W. T. Edwards returned Tues day from a few days visit to relatives at Covington. Mrs. R. D. Owen, of Aragon, spent Thursday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Owen. _ Mrs. C. H. Meredith and daughter, Lorena, left Saturday for a few days a visit at Chickamauga. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Massey, of La Fayette, were the guests last week of Mr. and Mrs. B. Suggs. Miss Mary Jim Oliver returned Fri day to Macon after a visit to her aunt, Mrs. L. 8. McArver. Mrs. I. L. St.Clair returned Thurs day from a visit to Mrs. C. H. Rem ington at Statesboro and a trip to Savannah. Miss Lillie Litesey has returned to Cuba, where she is teaching, after a visit to the family of her cousin, Mr. J. B. Litesey. Dr. J. W. Good and family moved back to Cedartown last week after spending the summer at their Borden- Wheeler cottage. Mrs. W. W. Peacock and daughter, Miss Paula, returned Monday from a visit to her daughter, Miss Gertrude, in South Boston, Va. Mrs. John Hunter spent a part of last week in Atlanta, having been called there by the illness of her sis ter, Miss Maude Sanders. Mrs. R. J. Durham, of Acworth was the guest last week of her par ents, Hon. and Mrs. W. W. Mundy. _ Mr. Durham spent Sunday here, Mrs. Nannie Golightly has adopted a little girl from the Methodist Orph ans Home at Decatur, who will now be known as Margaret Golightly. Mrs. J. P. Martin went Friday to Memphis to meet her little daughter, Carolyn, who has been with relatives on a trip to Chicago and New York. Prof. H. R. Hunt, the efficient head of the 7th District A. M.
