Ashehville, N. t\, Sept. 3.—Governor Craig, at tits home here this morning, granted a reprieve for eight weeks to Hardy Wiggins and Merritt, Miller, who were to liaye been electrocuted at 10:30 o’clock at the state prison in Raleigh.In a statement accompanying the reprieve the Governor said that attorneys for*the men had filed a petition with him asking for time to take thej*1J case before the supreme court of the !Ci United States on a writ of error. M attorneys contend that the prisoners jSi did not have a fair and impartial trial I ^ l i in that many of the jurors had formed ‘'{and expressed the opinion that the *■ J defendants were guilty, Wiggins and K Miller were convicted of murdering Phillip Phillips, in Graham County a year ago.Hour of Doom Had All But Arrived.Raleigh, N.
