PERSONAL.Ono of the very earliest settlers In this district, and a colonlsb of over 60 years, In the person of Mr George Thomas, died at his residence, Narlng, on Taeaday, at the great age of 0 years. The deceased gentleman, who was of a qnlet, though oordlal disposition, with a deop love of dome6tlolty, was genuinely respected amongst the people of a wide district, and sincere regrot has boon expressed ab his demise. Though he had reaohed snoh an advanced ago, the deceased gentleman was very aotive, both physically and meutally, until within three or four days of his death when he took to his bod with an attack of Inflnonna. Alarming symptoms setting In medical aid was sought bat the old gentleman breathed hla last before the dootor’fl arrival. Mr Thomas took little interest In public affairs, bat aotlvely jKmoerned himself In chnroh work, having been a trnatee of the Narlng .Methodist Ohnrch slnos Its establishment, and for many years superintendent of the Sunday-school. There are left to mourn their loss a family of nine— Mrs J. Devine, No-murkah ; Mrs J. Monorleff, Waala ; Mrs Prosser, Misses Oarrle and Martha, Messrs George E., W. J., Everlb, and Alberb. The faneral took place at the Nnmnrkah Cemetery yesterday, Rev A. J. Oollooobb reading the aorrloe at the graveside.I.t t _
