At about 8:30 last night Frank Bierman, living on north Second street in this city, but visiting with his son on the old farm in Tilden while labor ing under mental derangement arose, obtained a shot gun, went with it to the grove and placed the muzzle a gainst his heart pressed the trigger with a stick, discharging the contents into his heart, willing himself instantly. Mr. Bierman had been in poor health for some time and something over a year ago purchased property on north Second street and with his wife and young daughter moved to this place, but he retained his Tilden farm which is occupied by his son and was visiting there when seized with the insane im pulse to end his life which he carried into affect so effectively. The report of the gun was heant in the house and the family ran to the grove to find Mr. Bierman weltering in his blood with a gaping wound in the chest. Coroner Pelton was at once notified and with Constable Smyth repaired to the scene of the tragedy and viewed the remains and held an inquest, the jury returned a verdict in accordance with these facts. Mr. Bierman’s family relations were most pleasant and with wealth at his command to meet every desire he ap parently had everything to live for, but disease fastened itself upon him and clouded his faculties. We under stand that his physician feared that his malady would take a suicidal turn and warned the family to keep close watch on him. This was done but with the cunning of the insane he man aged to elude them. They had been threshing during the day and every body was busy around the house when he slipped away. Deceased leaves a wife and several sons and daughters. We have not been able to ascertain what funeral ar rangements have been made, but un derstand the services will be held from the Tilden farm. The family has the heartfelt sympathy of a large circle of friends in this bereavement. Cherokee Times.
