P. 120.To make out the meaning of all the hieroglyphics which follow the name of Dr. Ure, would be a work of some little time to the unlearned and unitiated: for the good Doctor seems ready to outdo even Dr. Dionysius Lardner himself. So thickly scattered are these imposing addenda now -a-days,that he must be a veritable dunce who has not managed to pick up some half-dozen of them. However, laughing apart, we have here the first number of a very useful, valuable, and very interesting work. To manufacturers, metallurgists, merchants, brokers, drysalters, druggists, officers of the revenue, and tradesmen in general, it appears to be almost indispensable ; and the general reader, whatsoever may be his profession or calling, will not fail to reap much instruction and entertainment from such a well-condensed mass of important matter.
