DOG TEAM DRIVERBADLY BEATENStaunton, Oct, 30,—Claiming that he was making a driving tour with a dog team from Alaska through every State in the Union, a man 'giving his name as William Brown reached Staunton : yesterday from Greenville, Brown was in a battered condition and told a crowd in front of the Virginia Hotel that he had been attaekr ed by James Campbell, a man twice his size, near the city on the Greenville road. He said that Campbell had struck, him with the butt of a heavy whip and stunned him and then jumped upon, him and pummelled him. Brown, who is a very small man, was certainly badly used ;up, - He said that he was trying' to, stop a fight between one of his dogs and a dog belonging to ,a. negro when Campbell interposed and the fight followed.
