WAKARUSA LITIGANTS ADVISED TO SETTLE DIFFERENCES. EXPENSE OF LITIGATION OVERSHADOWS ALL ELSE Superior Court Jury Discharged after 25 Days of Continuous Service— Vacation After Next Week. (Pam Friday’s Days.) Judge Krane in the circuit court today heard the case of Edgar Stickle vs. John A. Doering, appealed from 4 justice in Olive township. The basis of the sitigation was a $2.50 horse barket, which Stickle thought of Mr. Doering and which he claimed was un satisfactory. In the lower court Stic kle was given a $2 judgment. Then Doering appealed. When the trial got started today Judge Drake told the litigants and the lawyers, Lou J. Vail and C. A. Lee for the plaintiff and Oscar Jay for the defendant that it was a waste of time and money to proceed and that they should adjust the dispute among themselves as it should have been adjusted in the be ginning. It was suggested that Doer ing give Stickle a new blanket and each side pay its own costs, the court costs to be divided equally. Severe witnesses traveled here from Wakari -2 to testify. At 3 o'clock a conference was started for the purpose of set iing the great difficulty. In fighting through the courts several times the value of the horse blanket has been spent. State vs. Harry Huston, wife deser tion, Charles F. Blaney pleaded guilty to violating the Hquor law and was fined $16 and costs. Circuit Court Cases, BE.FE. Mummert for the Standard is Co. has sued Charles JL. Kinney on account, asking for judgment of 3145. Cited for Contempt. In the divorce case of Sophroniz Kauffman vs. Frank F. Kauffman, the defendant has been cited to appear next Monday for contempt. Superior Court. Kate Beaseley was given judgement for $1,425.53 against W. C. Hudson on note. Divorce Granted. Sarah Johnson was granted a di vorce from Daniel R. Johnson. E. ¥. Mummert appeared for the plaintif Verdict in Klaer Case, in the case of Klaer vs. Klaer, ven ued to the superior court from South Bend and which had been on trial for several days, the jury retired at 4 p. m. yesterday and reached an agreement at 2:30 a. m. today, when they found for the plaintiff, Mrs. Bes sie Tinderhill. Seventeen ballots were taken. About $15,000 is involved in the litigation. The legitimacy of a child was also at issue. Superior Court to End. The superior court jury was dis charged today, after 25 days of con tinuous service. Judge Harman will adjourn court one week from today. The vacation will last two weeks, court reconvening Monday, Nov. 17ths.
