Perlite, perfect gentleman; awful rich, but powerful ignorant; T could vrrite better myself than ul1 boss.’* When 17 years of sigu Mr, Wriirht enlisted in a uugro regiment, and for about two years was a good soldier in the Union army, serving in the campaign about Petersburg and Richmond. While in camp at the former place, he told u*, he saw President Lincoln shortly before his martyrdom, and felt almost like worshipping him. Mr. Wright was wounded in an engagement at Halt Works, Va., and for thal and other disabililies received a pension of $12 per month dtirinc his later years. Though old and somewhat broken down at the time we talked with him he impressed us as a shrewd, Sionest hearted man possessed of good natural ability and a bright mentality. A neighbor of the Wright family writes us; Deceased was one nf the few colored persons in Worth county, having come here about twenty years ago. He had the respect and confidence of all who knew him, having lived an honorable and upright life. He leaves a wife and a large family of children, who will miss his council and good example, Wc trust the old soldier has reached a realm where the color line i never drawn and where every form of ftlavery is unknown.The undersigned.
