The regular meeting of the Harry E. Smith unit 211 of the ladies auxiliary of the Military Order of the Purple Heart was held on Thurs., Oct. 17 at the city hall. A jelly and kleenex shower was held for the boys at Oak For est. The next regular meeting will be held on Nov. 21. At the installation of officers held on Oct. 11, Mrs. Jewell Muel ler, national president of the or ganization, served as installing of ficer. Installing sergeant at arms was Mrs. Florence Northrup, de partment president. Mrs. Mary Cash was installed as president, and the other officers for the year are Ruth Laperruque, first vice president; Gertude Mur phy, second vice president; Mary Cash, Jr., secretary and treasurer; Ethel Schoning, chaplain; Myrtis Bloomer, historian; Esther Smith, sergeant at arms; Laura Jones, patriotic instructor; Rose Lepper marshall; Lola Wheeler, parlia mentarian; and Frances Rowden, welfare. A cash gift from the mem bers was given to Mrs. Rowden in appreciation of her service as president the past year.
