FORMER CORDOVAN MOVIE STUNT MANDick Kerwood, former resident of Cordova, is a public hero in Southern California, according to letters received from former Cordovans, who have recently been witnessing some of his hair-raising feats as stunt performer for the Crawford Airplane Company. of Venice. Kerwood, who has been a “stunt man” for the past three years, is employed by tin* Universal. Selznick, Vitagraph and United Studios companies, and is known as tie* “rope ladder king.” One of the few surviving men who performs the feat of dropping from one aeroplane to another in mid-air. he is known among movie fans and the “stunt” observers as the “Alaska Daredevil.” and his daring exploits are the thrillers nt many public celebrations. Flying to extraordinary heights, dropping from a parachute, and performing trapeze acts on his descent to earth, are among the more prosaic of his achievements Kerwood. who formerly lived in Cordova. left here about three years ago for California.
